Hey! It’s been a hot minute (cough – a year – cough) but here I am. No reason for the absence except ‘life’ – I love my blog but I also love my job, my kids, my husband, my friends etc. I don’t love my laundry yet it remarkably still keeps taking up my time. Regardless, I’m back (my plan is to post a blog twice a week), and with me, I bring a paint update.

When I last left you, I was getting ready to freshen up our main floor with some lighter, brighter paint. I started with the kitchen/family room area (the two spaces open up to each other) as it is where we spend a good deal of our time when home.

Here is how the kitchen and family room space looked before.

The taupe walls and dark colour on the fireplace and behind the kitchen cupboards felt drab. Wanting a fresh, new look, I went light! The paint colour I chose after MUCH testing (seriously, my walls looked like a bad off-white/greige quilt) was “Toasted White” by CIL.

And now, the same space feels lighter, brighter and more “us”.

And the family room side? Much calmer. Now the only drama in here is the ladies on Bachelor Monday – yeeeha! Let the games begin!

Overall the whole space now feels like it has more ‘breathing room’. It’s quiet, serene and cozy. Sigh… Now, bring on the Bachelor drama! Yip Yip – spice it up!
