I’m back today to share a really simple way to easily remove water marks from wood. Now, of course the best way to do this would be to sand down your wood surface, restain and reseal, BUT in a pinch – and for a quick fix – this little trick might be all you need!

We have a little end table that gets a lot of use. Over the years many the bottom of cup have seen this table without a coaster and the result, well, I’ll let you be the judge…

Now, I have a little trick that will literally make these water marks disappear (or most of them). It’s simple and requires next to zero effort.

1. Grab some mineral oil. Note: do not use cooking oil or any food based oil as it will eventually go rancid in the wood. Mineral oil is very cost-effective and easy to find at any grocery store or drug store (check the pharmacy), or online.

2. Pour a small amount onto your wood surface.

3. Wipe the mineral oil into the wood with a cloth or paper towel. Keep wiping until it has been well absorbed . Remove any excess so that the wood surface is not oily.

4. Pat yourself on the back and go and pour yourself a coffee. Also, grab a coaster.

Ta-da! And you are done. Not bad right? A keen eye might notice a few of the water marks are still slightly visible but for two minutes of “work”, who’s complaining? Not this girl.
